Analenisgi is the combined program to provide mental health and substance abuse treatment to the Qualla Boundary community. As of October 1, 2004, Analenisgi formed from the former Recovery Services Center and Behavioral Health Center.

Scope of Work: Analenisgi staff provides mental health/substance abuse services on the Qualla Boundary as well as Cherokee County and Snowbird. Their services include: individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, stress reduction, relaxation training, anger management, psychological assessments, Batterer’s Re-education, in-patient consults, training/education in-services, and consultations with other programs.

AYeGa is a peer-driven organization providing culturally based education, support and advocacy to create a network for individuals and families that promote sobriety, recovery and healing

AYeGa is grant funded from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration ( SAMHSA ) and is managed by Analenisgi under EBCI Health and Medical Division.

HOW DOES AYEGA WORK?
The staff goes into each community to educate community members about alcohol and drugs and to promote the benefits of sobriety. AYeGa collaborates with other tribal programs to build a strong system for those in need of alcohol and drug services as well as support in all areas of their lives.

  • Self improvement classes: GED, job skills training, life skills training,
  • Parenting classes
  • Physical and mental health wellness,
  • Positive recreational activities,
  • Cultural enrichment classes,
  • Drop-in Center for resources, research and added support
