The mission of the Qualla Youth Health Center is to provide quality health care to the youth of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Nation by a respectful, responsive staff through professional medical services, community involvement and outreach.

Cindy is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a BSN in nursing and has been a nurse for the last 15 years. She spent 14 of those years as an employee of Harris Regional Hospital, with most of her career has been spent in working with the critically ill. She has held a certification in critical care. She has had a special interest in children and pediatrics. She came to the QYHC in April 2003 and is excited to be serving the youth of EBCI. She is married and has one young son.

Cristina Brown PA-C

Cristina is coming to us from Shreve Ohio, in Amish country. She has been a PA for the last 14 years and is certified through the AAPA. She has spent most of her time in family practice with a large population of children and adolescents. She enjoys doing public relations in the community and speaking to organizations about health care related topics. She is married and has two children.

Chris Cruise Ph. D.

Chris Cruise is a licensed psychologist with the QYHC and has been employed with EBCI since 1999. He has a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the university of Wyoming and a MA in Counseling form East Tennessee State University. He has worked as a therapist focusing on child and family interventions since 1987 and has practiced mostly in rural and frontier settings in Tennessee, Wyoming, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Professional interests include the delivery of mental health services to families with infant and toddlers and Parent/Child interaction Therapy.

Stu has been a CNA for the past 12 years and been caring for EBCI members in many capacities. She spent 3years with Home Health services and another 3 years working at CIHA. She is certified in CPR and an enrolled member. She began at QYHC in April 2003 and is excited to be serving EBCI youth. As our office manager she has become a valued member of the QYHC family. She has two daughters, two grandchildren and two dogs.

QYHC participates in many community events including A ye ga’s Walk for Sobriety, Dora Reed Children’s center Halloween Party and supports Cherokee Central Schools activities. We also participate, yearly in Health and Safety Day at the Fall Fair.
