Tribal Contract Health Services
The mission of the Tribal Contract Health Services is to provide medical services for patients on the P1B list at Cherokee Indian Hospital, thereby decreasing the number of tribal members waiting for services.

Scope of Work: The Tribal Contract Health Services program schedules patients referred to the program by Cherokee Indian Hospital for medical services. They provide funding to pay for the services and follow-up.

2003 Accomplishments:

  • Completed a backlog of deferred P1B list for patients waiting for services at CIH since 1994, now offering current weekly referrals, sending EBCI members for medically necessary appointments, procedures and surgery.

  • Continued to purchase CIH pharmacy with Celexa, Avandia and Zocor to be dispensed at the hospital.
  • Purchasing non-formulary prescriptions for EBCI members, if they have no insurance coverage.
  • Purchasing formulary and non-formulary prescriptions for EBCI members who were not eligible for CIH pharmacy because of their residence, that don’t have insurance coverage.
  • Continue to supply diabetic supplies at CIH.
  • Successfully met The American Institute of Outcomes-Case Management criteria for certification as Case Manager-Certified (CMC).
  • Working in collaboration with local and area providers.
